Factors affecting the decision to choose economics major of students of the Faculty of Economics of Hoa Lu university
Abstract
This article studies the factors that influence students' decision to choose an economics major and how to measure it. The research was conducted with a quantitative analysis on the results of a survey of 125 students majoring in Accounting and Business Administration. The results analysis process is performed through SPSS 20 software. Research results indicate the main factors affecting students' decision to choose a major: Career opportunities; Institutions of higher learning; Individuals influence; Personal characteristics;Admissions consulting work; Characteristics of the university; Characteristics of the field of study; Employability; Convenient media.Among those factors, admission consulting plays the most important role, followed by the personal orientation of parents, siblings, teachers, and friends towards the student.This is really useful for the Faculty of Economics and Hoa Lu University to monitor and increase the number of students studying economics through adjusting the factors that affect it. The research results have helped provide important tips and bases in building solutions to improve quality in admission consulting work.
