Abstract

The development of the digital economy is in direct proportion to the economic growth. The digital economy is regarded as a new driving force for economic development, as it opens up new sectors, upgrades traditional industries, or eliminates outdated sectors and occupations, thereby creating new jobs, improving economic efficiency through optimization from production to distribution, and stimulating increasing consumer demand. The formation of new digital-based industries and sectors leads to a growing demand for labor. Employment opportunities directly related to digital technologies are increasing and better remunerated, reflecting their growing importance in society and the division of labor. Moreover, the digital economy also expands traditional employment to support the business expansion that benefits from digital transformation. This paper examines the current state of human resources in Vietnam in the context of digital economy development, indicates existing challenges, and proposes several solutions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of human resources in order to meet the requirements of economic development and digital economy growth in Vietnam today.
