Abstract
This article investigates Ghe Ngo
racing, a distinctive traditional sport of the Khmer
people in the Mekong Delta, and analyzes folk
sports movements in the Mekong Delta. The article
discusses the cultural and historical significance
of Ghe Ngo racing, its role in community life,
as well as the development of other folk sports
such as tug-of-war, stick-pushing, wrestling,
and bull racing. The paper also emphasizes
the importance of preserving and promoting
these traditional values in the modern context.
