Abstract

The rapid aging of the population presents significant challenges for Vietnam’s healthcare system, particularly in ensuring equitable and effective access to services for older adults. Globally, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have proven to be effective tools for spatial analysis and for optimizing the organization of healthcare networks. The research methods for this article involved a synthesis of secondary literature and an analysis of relevant studies both domestically and internationally. Based on this approach, the paper highlights international experiences regarding the application of GIS in facilitating healthcare access for older adults. Concurrently, the paper also analyzes the current state of GIS application in Vietnam to provide valuable, referential lessons for the present period
