The article demonstrates the indispensable significance of the traditional legal research method in preserving the system, logic, and predictability of law, as well as its essential role in ‘translating and transforming’ extralegal insights from other scientific disciplines into the legal framework. Concurrently, the article underscores the necessity to innovate traditional legal research methods towards a flexible and effective integration of knowledge and methods from relevant scientific fields, and proposes a specific and suggestive integrated model of research methods designed for PhD students in law in Vietnam.
