The struggle movement of Southern intellectuals under the Party’s leadership (1965-1968)

Abstract

Intellectuals are an important force in the great national unity bloc under the leadership of the Party. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the Party attracted and organized patriotic and revolutionary intellectuals in the South into various forms of fronts. In the years 1965-1968, the US imperialists carried out the strategy of “Local War”, directly sending troops to the South, causing a destructive war in the North. With national spirit, patriotism, and sensitivity to the situation and current events, the intellectual class in the South accompanied the people in the climax of the struggle against the US imperialists and their henchmen. The intellectuals’ struggle movement developed strongly, especially in urban areas, contributing to promoting the resistance war against the US for national salvation to victory.
