Abstract

Abstract: Vietnamese culture, rooted in the ancient states of Van Lang - Au Lac, has always been closely tied to wet rice agriculture and a strong sense of community. Throughout more than a thousand years of Northern domination, the Vietnamese people managed to preserve their indigenous way of life and distinctive moral values, effectively resisting cultural assimilation policies and foreign rule. This article explores the methods used to protect Vietnamese culture and ideology and to counter cultural assimilation efforts during that period, highlighting the nation's resilient spirit. From this, it draws valuable lessons for safeguarding and promoting Vietnam's national cultural identity today.
