Promoting Vietnam’s strategic values from the perspective of defence, security and foreign affairs.

Abstract

The world’s epochal changes, along with the trend of globalisation and increasing international integration have been directly affecting the development of Vietnam. To steadfastly enter the era of nation’s rise, it is crucial, in both theory and practice, for the country to precisely identify and optimally promote the country’s strategic values. This process requires a comprehensive, holistic approach, close and synchronous coordination among ministries, branches and agencies working on defence, security and foreign affairs to firmly protect the highest national interests. On that basis, from the perspective of national defence, security and foreign affairs, the article will focus on sumarising and evaluating the content and basic elements of national strategic values, thereby providing some policy suggestions for Vietnam.
