The defense - security relations between South Korea and China from 2022 until now: Reality and prospects

Abstract

Defense - security cooperation is the key factor affecting the overall progress of the South Korea - China bilateral relations. However, since Joe Biden’s inauguration as the President of the United States (January 2021) and Yoon Suk-yeol’s inauguration as the President of the Republic of Korea (May 2022), together with the multi-dimensional impacts of other overlapping subjective and objective factors, the South Korea - China defense - security relations has experienced ups and downs. The article analyzes the reality of the South Korea - China defense - security relations from 2022 until now and forecasts the trend of cooperation in this relationship in the future.
