DESIGN, SIMULATION, AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF A DC-DC BOOST CONVERTER APPLYING MPPT ALGORITHM IN A MINI PV SYSTEM FOR ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Tóm tắt
This research presents the design, simulation, and performance evaluation of a DC-DC
Boost converter integrated with a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm for a small-scale
photovoltaic (PV) system. A Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm adjusts the converter’s duty cycle to
track the Maximum Power Point (MPP) under varying irradiance. The system is modeled in MATLAB/
Simulation, and its performance is compared with and without MPPT. Results show improved efficiency
and stable output, supporting cost-effective, efficient solar energy for standalone applications. This study
also serves as a practical reference for Electrical and Electronics Engineering students to understand the
application of power electronics and MPPT control in renewable energy systems.
