Tóm tắt

Scientific competence is one of the core competencies that need to be developed in primary school
students under the 2018 General Education Curriculum. However, practical implementation reveals that
teaching activities aimed at fostering this competency still face many limitations. The study indicates
that applying competency-based teaching approaches in the subject Science and Society significantly
enhances students’ abilities in observation, reasoning, problem-solving, and applying knowledge to
real-life situations. The findings contribute to shaping the direction of teaching innovation, promoting
experiential learning for students, and improving teachers’ professional competencies.
