If the goal of our teaching and learning English as a foreign language is to cultivate our students’ communicative skills in English, then interaction must be present in our classrooms. Since real communication is interaction between people and linguistic interaction is a collaborative activity, classroom teaching and learning activities must be interactive in nature.
This paper will look into two important things of interactive language teaching. They are the characteristics of interactive language classrooms and the interactive activities in these classes. It is hoped that this useful knowledge can help teachers improve their students’ active involvement, which will contribute to more success in EFL teaching and learning.
