The spiritual tourism model at Thay Pagoda: Current situation, issues and solutions

Abstract

Buddhism was introduced to Vietnam very early, with the tradition of accompanying the nation, Buddhism has a strong influence on different areas of Vietnamese social life, which has been proven through historical periods. Buddhism with a massive system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Vietnam, has contributed significantly to the tourism sector of Vietnam, famous pagodas in Vietnam such as Huong Pagoda, Mot Cot Pagoda, Dau Pagoda, ... have become famous tourist destinations in Vietnam.Thay Pagoda is an ancient pagoda located in Quoc Oai district, Hanoi city. With special advantages, Thay Pagoda has become a typical spiritual tourist destination of Hanoi city. Spiritual tourism at Thay Pagoda has been exploiting its advantages and development potential; however, it is necessary to continue researching and proposing solutions to improve the quality of activities aimed at serving the community and society.
