The people’s trust in the Communist Party of Vietnam constitutes a decisive factor in the success or failure of the Vietnamese revolution. The most serious threat to this trust is the moral degradation arising from individualism among a segment of cadres and Party members. President Ho Chi Minh repeatedly emphasized that individualism is an “internal enemy”, a dangerous force that undermines revolutionary ethics and weakens the Party’s organizational strength. This article analyzes Ho Chi Minh’s thought on combating individualism, affirming its theoretical and practical significance for current Party building and rectification efforts. It also proposes applicable solutions to reinforce public trust, thereby ensuring the Party’s integrity and resilience in the new era.

Methods for preserving and promoting the cultural values of traditional craft villages in economic development in Hanoi

With a rich and long-standing system of craft villages, Hanoi possesses a unique cultural resource of great historical and economic value. Preserving and promoting the cultural value of traditional craft villages is considered a strategic approach to enhance competitiveness, promote sustainable production, and increase the brand value of the villages. Therefore, exploring suitable methods to effectively conserve and utilize this resource is a necessary and practically meaningful issue today. In addition to the important legal policies of local authorities, traditional craft villages actively register trademarks, develop tourism, stabilize raw material areas, and apply technology to both preserve the distinctive characteristics of the villages and diversify products, thereby reducing environmental pollution. Through these efforts, they contribute to increasing economic value and promoting Hanoi's craft villages' image both domestically and internationally.

School violence in Vietnam from the perspective of selected Sociological theories toward solutions

School violence in Vietnam has emerged as a pressing social issue, characterized by increasing complexity and broader impacts. Beyond physical aggression, school violence now includes psychological bullying and cyberbullying, causing significant harm to students' mental health, academic performance, and personality development. This paper examines the current situation of school violence based on recent empirical studies and statistical data, and applies the Social Learning Theory developed by Albert Bandura and the Social Control Theory proposed by Travis Hirschi to explain the mechanisms underlying aggressive behavior in school settings. Based on these theoretical insights, the paper proposes comprehensive interventions, including the promotion of positive role models, the strengthening of social control mechanisms, and the enhancement of life skills education. Such systematic approaches are essential for building a safe, humane, and sustainable educational environment in Vietnam

Developing an index of youth participation in private economic development in selected countries: lessons for Vietnam

In the context of Vietnam actively promoting the development of the private economy in accordance with Resolution 68-NQ/TW (2025) of the Politburo, the youth are identified as a key subject. However, the system for measuring the level of youth participation and contribution in this sector lacks a systematic approach. This article studies the experience of developing youth development indicators for the private sector in four representative Asian countries - Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia - through comparative analysis of international indices including the Global Youth Development Index (YDI), the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI), and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report. Based on this, From then on, the article proposes an indicator framework consisting of four groups applied to measure young people's participation in the private economy in Vietnam, including: (1) Access and awareness; (2) Attitudes and intentions; (3) Actual participation; (4) Supportive environment.

China's experience in converting rice-growing land to other agricultural land

By employing a literature review approach, this article analyzes China's experience in converting rice-growing land to other agricultural land-use types to draw lessons for agricultural restructuring in Vietnam. In the context of rapid urbanization and declining rice-growing efficiency, China established a strict management mechanism through the "red line" of agricultural land and maintained a minimum of 120 million hectares of arable land to ensure food security. The study identifies three typical conversion models: conversion to perennial fruit trees, vegetable cultivation, and integrated rice-fish farming, reflecting different levels of economic efficiency and environmental impact. Experience shows that rice land conversion is only sustainable when implemented within the agricultural land itself, with mechanisms to compensate for equivalent land area and quality, and linked to technical support and market connections from local authorities. These results provide a basis for Vietnam to refer to in developing flexible rice land use policies that ensure food security and long-term environmental protection.

Attitudes of university students in Hanoi toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community

Based on the survey results on university students' attitudes toward the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) community in Hanoi, conducted by a group of students from the Faculty of Social Work, Vietnam Youth Academy from January to February 2026, this paper presents several initial findings on students' attitudes at some universities toward the LGBT community across three components of the attitude structure, including: attitudes expressed in thoughts and perceptions, attitudes expressed in emotions, and attitudes expressed in behavioral response tendencies. Overall, students' attitudes toward the LGBT community tend to be positive, however, there remains a proportion of students who feel hesitant and are not entirely comfortable discussing issues related to the LGBT community or are not proactive in speaking up against discriminatory and stigmatizing behaviors toward the LGBT community. This indicates that students still need guidance through education and communication in order to develop positive, long-term, and sustainable attitudes toward the LGBT community.

Fostering the teaching staff in accordance with Ho Chi Minh’s thought at the Artillery Officers College today

In Ho Chi Minh's thought, education and training occupy a particularly important position in the revolutionary cause, in which the teaching staff constitutes the force that directly determines the quality of training and cadre development. He consistently emphasized the necessity of building and fostering a contingent of lecturers in a comprehensive manner, encompassing political qualities, professional ethics, professional competence, and pedagogical methods, regarding this as a prerequisite for fulfilling the mission of "cultivating people." Based on a thorough grasp of Ho Chi Minh's thought on education and cadre training, this article focuses on clarifying the fundamental contents of his thought concerning the development of the teaching staff, while analyzing the theoretical and practical significance of applying this thought under current conditions. The article also examines the practical implementation of lecturer development at the Artillery Officer School, identifies achieved results, existing issues, and the requirements for further improving the quality of lecturer development in accordance with Ho Chi Minh's thought, thereby contributing to the building of a teaching staff capable of meeting the requirements of military development in the new situation.

The impact of digital transformation on the lifestyle of Military youth today

Digital transformation is unfolding vigorously and has become a key driver of socio-economic development and the improvement of human resource quality. In the Vietnam People's Army, digital transformation is not only associated with the modernization of weapons, equipment, command methods, and management systems, but also directly affects the learning environment, training processes, and lifestyle of officers and soldiers, especially military youth a vanguard force that is technologically adept and actively engaged in this process. Based on an analysis of both the positive impacts and limitations of digital transformation on the lifestyle of military youth, this article clarifies the issues arising in education, management, and orientation. Drawing upon Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the Party's guidelines, the article proposes solutions to foster a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle among military youth, thereby contributing to the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Army in the context of digital transformation.

The impact of discourse structuring skills on students’ English speaking competence: A case study at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering

This study aims to investigate the impact of implementing discourse structuring skills on the speaking competence of first-year students enrolled in the English 1 module at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE). To address common barriers such as communication apprehension, limited lexical resources, and fragmented idea organization among engineering students, this action research focused on the speaking tasks of the first four units of the English File: Pre-intermediate Student's Book (4th ed.) over an eight-week period. The methodology involved 60 participants divided into two cohorts: an experimental group, which received explicit instruction in discourse structuring techniques, and a control group, which performed speaking tasks spontaneously without specific structural guidance. Quantitative analysis reveals that the experimental group made significant progress, with their average scores increasing substantially more than those of the control group. The findings suggest that the strategic implementation of discourse structuring enhances both logical coherence and oral fluency. Additionally, it indicates a marked improvement in students’ confidence and their positive attitudes toward speaking practice. This provides a crucial foundation for instructors to refine pedagogical methods. Consequently, the study recommends the formal integration of discourse structuring skills into English language curricula at HUCE to enhance students’ communicative proficiency in both future academic settings and professional engineering contexts.

Applying Ho Chi Minh’s thought on methods of fostering the revolutionary generation for future generations to the education of Military youth today

Ho Chi Minh's thought on fostering the revolutionary generation for posterity provides a comprehensive methodological foundation for Vietnam's revolutionary strategy of human development. This article analyzes the core methodological principles in his thought, including the leadership role of the Party in educating youth; the principle of combining theory with practice; the coordination among educational environments; the role-model approach; and the emphasis on self-study, self-discipline, and the struggle against individualism. Based on this theoretical framework, the article examines emerging requirements for fostering military youth in the context of the socialist-oriented market economy, digital transformation, and new security challenges. From both theoretical and practical perspectives, the study proposes orientations for applying Ho Chi Minh's thought to enhance the political steadfastness, revolutionary morality, and professional competence of military youth today. Such application contributes to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army capable of meeting the demands of national defense in the new situation.

The impact of Tiktok trends on University students’ consumption behavior: A comparative study at The University of Social Sciences and Humanities and The University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi

In the context of accelerating digital transformation, TikTok has emerged as a dominant socio-digital platform that profoundly shapes consumer behavior among young people, particularly university students. Drawing on survey data from 393 students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, this study examines the influence of TikTok-driven trends on student consumption behavior using a mixed-methods approach. Grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, the study investigates how platform-based stimuli-including video content, influencer marketing (KOL/KOC), electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), peer pressure, and digital cultural factors-affect behavioral responses, with Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) conceptualized as a key mediating mechanism. The findings reveal that trend-driven consumption is increasingly prevalent, characterized by heightened engagement with trending products and a growing tendency toward impulsive purchasing. Notably, video content, social influence, and FOMO are identified as significant drivers of consumer behavior. This study contributes to the literature by extending the S-O-R framework in the context of platform-based consumption, highlighting a shift from socially driven consumption toward content- and experience-oriented behavior. It also offers practical implications for fostering responsible consumption and designing more effective digital marketing strategies on TikTok.
