Abstract

Vietnamese folk music, the very root of Vietnam’s art, is a precious cultural heritage. It deeplyreflects the lives, emotions, and customs of working people throughout thousands of years of nation-buildingand defense. With the strong current of globalization, however, folk music is gradually fading due to theinfluence of modern artistic trends and genres. Nevertheless, the development of the cultural industry hasopened up a significant opportunity to preserve and promote traditional artistic values, including folk music.The cultural industry not only helps folk music revive but also creates new values in contemporary artistic life.
