This article addresses the issue of preserving and promoting the value of two distinctive folk art forms of the Southern region - bong roi performance and don ca tai tu - from the perspective of art communication and cultural branding. By applying the theories of symbolism and expression, and a model for building cultural value based on perceptions from the receiving community (the CBBE framework - Customer - Based Brand Equity), the article proposes an approach to art communication as a strategy to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of the values of folk cultural heritage in the current context of cultural exchange. This approach emphasizes the role of the local community and art practitioners in maintaining the vitality and symbolic depth of the heritage.

The tendency to employ hybrid forms in musical composition represents a significant historical process that reflects the continuous search for artistic innovation. In Western music history, this tendency marked the shift from the structural conventions of the Classical era to the expressive freedom and diverse interplay of forms, genres in the Romantic and modern periods. It also highlights composers’ efforts to transcend traditional boundaries by experimenting with new musical materials and compositional methods, thereby producing works of originality and richness. In line with this global development, Vietnamese composers have embraced and adapted hybrid compositional approaches while integrating national elements. This not only affirms their creative identity but also contributes to the modernization of Vietnamese music and its integration into the international artistic context.

Industry 4.0 has elevated society to a new level of development and posed numerous challenges for Vietnamese theatre arts, most notably across seven key aspects: facilities at theatres and stages; the increase in fierce market competition; human resources with the knowledge and skills to master technology in artistic creation; new social issues reflected in works that meet the needs and aesthetic tastes of contemporary audiences; the further promotion of international integration, leading to a higher risk of losing national cultural identity; the problem of abusing or overusing technology in artistic creation; and the investment costs for Industry 4.0 technology. On that basis, the article proposes several solutions to foster artistic innovation, creating a new momentum for Vietnamese theatre to transform and keep up with the digital age.

The dance in the ritual (part of the belief system) plays a pivotal role in the ritual’s structure and is a cultural and artistic phenomenon with profound expressive value. On the professional dance stage, the dance is inherited and refined by choreographers, who select folk movement language and combine it with music (contemporary or newly arranged folk music), along with modern costumes, props, and stage organization. These works both preserve the spirit of traditional culture and create new aesthetic effects, catering to contemporary audiences. This article analyzes three representative works directly inspired by the - belief, which have left a mark on Vietnamese professional dance: Hau van Xa thuong (People’s Artist Chu Thuy Quynh), Hoa vang (Tran Ly Ly), and Nam Phuong Mau te (Tan Loc). These are artistic creations that reinterpret traditional essence within the language of dance and a contemporary stage context.

In the context of Ho Chi Minh City merging with Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu and Bình Dương, and simultaneously implementing the two-tier local government model from July 1, 2025, the system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions has entered a comprehensive phase of restructuring. This process presents both an opportunity to streamline the organizational apparatus and optimize resources, as well as a significant challenge in governance and operational management. Based on the directives and guidance from central and local authorities, the network of cultural and sports institutions in Ho Chi Minh City has been reorganized into 38 Centers for Delivering Public Services in Culture and Sports. These centers are responsible for providing services to 168 wards, communes, and the Con Dao special zone. The article focuses on analyzing the current situation of this restructuring process, identifying its advantages and limitations, and proposing appropriate recommendations for building a more effective and sustainable system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions, in order to meet the demands of urban development in the new phase.

Marine fishing activities possess distinct characteristics that differentiate them not only from the agricultural production systems of inland communities but also from freshwater fishing practices carried out in rivers, streams, and large ponds. These differences are evident in several critical aspects, including the substantial capital investment required, the operational risks associated with unpredictable marine environments, and the significant influence of fishing grounds and harsh weather conditions. As a result, offshore fishing necessitates a high degree of community participation and collective effort, which are essential to ensuring both the efficiency and sustainability of resource exploitation. This study focuses on the role of community collaboration in marine fishing activities in Diem Pho village. It aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the socio-economic and cultural dynamics of coastal communities. The research also seeks to provide a scientific foundation for the development of policies that support the effective and sustainable exploitation of marine resources by local fishermen.

Employing survey methods, in-depth interviews, and an interdisciplinary approach within the social sciences and humanities, this study explores the impact of Korean popular culture on the cultural life of university students in Ho Chi Minh City in the current context. The findings reveal that various forms of Korean popular culture such as films, drama, music, and games, fashion exert a certain degree of influence on students’ cultural life, particularly in aspects: entertainment, consumption, travel preferences, and mindsets... However, these impacts are neither the strongest nor the only factors shaping students’ cultural life. The Korean Wave (Hallyu) serves as compelling evidence of the intersection between traditional cultural values and the global flow of popular culture, as well as the interplay between personal preferences, aspirations, and harsh realities. This dynamic interaction has contributed to the formation of a diverse and rich cultural life that is simultaneously globalized and localized, thereby shaping a new cultural identity among young people nowadays.

Xuan La Village of Phuong Duc commune, Hanoi city is renowned for its traditional craft of making To he (toy figurines made of glutinous rice powder). It is also an important archaeological site where boat-shaped tombs and Dong Son bronze drums, dating back approximately 2.000 years, have been discovered. Located in a low-lying floodplain area of the Red River Delta, Xuan La was historically submerged for most of the year. This adaptation gave rise to a local culture with distinctive characteristics of floodplain communities, reflected in village landscapes, housing arrangements, religious architecture, as well as customs and lifestyles. In the decades following the Doi Moi (Renovation) economic reforms of 1986, amid globalization, modernization, and the development of a market economy, the people of Xuan La Village have actively embraced social transformation. Through their dynamism and adaptability, they have made significant economic progress, gradually improving their living standards while also contributing to the transformation of their village’s traditional cultural identity.

This article analyzes the current context, the guiding viewpoints of the Communist Party and the State, and the key challenges in policy communication. It also proposes a comprehensive set of solutions to innovate policy and legal communication in the culture, sports, and tourism sector, grounded in scientific evidence, practical experience, and global trends. The proposed solutions focus on improving institutional and policy frameworks, developing human resources, applying digital technologies, strengthening feedback and two-way dialogue mechanisms, and reinforcing inter-sectoral coordination. On this basis, the paper offers specific recommendations and proposals for relevant authorities and organizations to effectively implement these solutions.

This article synthesizes and analyzes the prominent research trends in agritourism from 2015 to 2025, based on bibliometric analysis of scholarly publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. The study identifies five major research directions: Agritourism and sustainable development; Tourist behavior and experience; Digital transformation and technology adoption; Value chains and regional linkages; and Agritourism and community development. Existing studies affirm the important role of agritourism in promoting rural economic growth, ecological conservation, income enhancement, and community capacity building. However, research gaps remain, including the lack of integrated models adapted to local contexts, limited digital transformation, and insufficient community engagement. Therefore, the article proposes an integrated approach that links tourism development, resource conservation, and community empowerment - aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the strategic direction for agritourism development in Vietnam in the coming years.

This study investigates the mechanisms through which the green marketing mix influences customers’ purchase decisions in the context of green hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Drawing on a review of domestic and international literature, the study identifies a research gap concerning the simultaneous, comprehensive examination of all green marketing mix elements and the mediating roles of psychological behavioral factors such as sustainable consumption awareness, subjective well-being, and hotel brand image. Employing a qualitative design, the authors conducted in-depth interviews with eight experts, including scholars in green marketing and executives from ASEAN-certified green hotels. Data were analyzed using content analysis, yielding key themes that capture experts’ perspectives on the suitability of the research model, the mechanisms of influence among variables, and context-specific factors characterizing the green hotel market in Ho Chi Minh City. The findings indicate that the green marketing mix exerts both direct and indirect effects on purchase decisions by enhancing sustainable consumption awareness, enriching positive customer experiences, and strengthening brand trust. The results also highlight the critical roles of sociocultural factors and the policy framework in shaping green consumption behavior. Based on these insights, the study offers managerial implications for businesses and policy recommendations for regulatory authorities to promote the sustainable development of the hotel industry in Vietnam.

Music tourism has emerged as a new and increasingly popular trend, attracting a significant number of tourists while simultaneously offering substantial opportunities for local economic development. In recent years, Ho Chi Minh City has hosted various artistic events and music festivals as part of its tourism initiatives, aiming to attract visitors, promote the city’s image, and enhance its reputation as a civilized, modern, cultured, and compassionate urban center on global scales. As a sub-sector of cultural tourism, the development of music tourism drives the growth of diverse related cultural industries in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on theoretical perspectives on music tourism and the current state of its development in the city drawing from the resources of cultural industries, the author proposes several suggestions and recommendations to foster a stronger connection between music tourism and cultural industries, thereby enhancing the cultural and tourism appeal of Ho Chi Minh City.
