Abstract
Trees play an important role in daily life and in the spiritual culture of Vietnamese people from ancient times to the present. In particular, ancient trees with massive and majestic shapes are considered sacred trees such as banyan trees, bodhi trees, fig trees, etc. are not only worshiped in rural areas but also in the streets of Hanoi, there are temples dedicated to trees. The article explores the practice of worshiping sacred trees in inner-city Hanoi, studying cases in Ba Dinh and Thanh Xuan Districts. Through this, the author refers to the mentality of Hanoians in the process of urbanization.
