Abstract

The tendency to employ hybrid forms in musical composition represents a significant historical process that reflects the continuous search for artistic innovation. In Western music history, this tendency marked the shift from the structural conventions of the Classical era to the expressive freedom and diverse interplay of forms, genres in the Romantic and modern periods. It also highlights composers’ efforts to transcend traditional boundaries by experimenting with new musical materials and compositional methods, thereby producing works of originality and richness. In line with this global development, Vietnamese composers have embraced and adapted hybrid compositional approaches while integrating national elements. This not only affirms their creative identity but also contributes to the modernization of Vietnamese music and its integration into the international artistic context.
