Research on traffic organization to enhance connection with Le Duc Tho station on urban railway line no. 3 Nhon-Hanoi station
Abstract
In large urban areas of the developing economies, the development of high-speed, high-capacity public transport systems (Urban Mass Rapid Transit, UMRT) is an inevitable rule to solve the problem of urban traffic. In the UMRT system, urban railways are considered the backbone, guiding urban development in terms of traffic organization, land use, socio-economics, etc [9]. Hanoi is in the early stages of developing UMRT, so it has only focused on building railway infrastructure without paying due attention to organizing and connecting traffic to stations. Therefore, this article focuses on some solutions for organizing urban traffic to connect transport modes (walking, bicycles, motorbikes, cars, buses) to UMRT Line 3 stations, taking the typical case study as the area around Le Duc Tho station (S5 station). The proposed solution for the case study can be applied to surrounding areas of other station on Hanoi UMRT lines.
