Roadmap and potential of BIM in Vietnam construction industry

Abstract

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a solution that plays an important role in the development of the construction industry in Vietnam. With more than 10 years of development, the BIM has shown its practical effectiveness in actual production. The government's solutions implemented in the form of Laws and Decisions have demonstrated the Government's determination on the BIM. The BIM roadmap is shown in Decision 2500/QD-TTg and 250/QD-TTg, in which it is expected that by 2026, all projects must apply BIM. In addition, Vietnam has great potential for the BIM with practical needs and effective use of the BIM. Furthermore, the study also pointed out that the BIM's limitations are also very present in the BIM.
