Cơ sở của các hệ số tin cậy về vật liệu trong tiêu chuẩn châu Âu Eurocodes

Abstract

For the structural design, one of the issues that remains ambiguous, and even controversial, is the value of the partial factors related to the design material strengths or design loads. Engineers often apply these factors in the calculations, but the origins of these factors are rarely well understood. With the adoption of the new standard TCVN 2737:2023 (Loads and Actions), many concepts related to the structure importance class, return periods, the partial factors need to be clarified. This article presents the basis of the European standards (Eurocodes) to obtain the material partial factors. The determination of these factors is conducted based on the probability theory, the selected target reliabilities, and the structure importance class. Understanding the theoretical basis of these factors in European standards will aid in better understanding and improving the factors for Vietnam's standards (TCVN).
