Analysis of factors affecting the collaboration among the parties involved construction projects during the construction phase
Abstract
This study analyzes the factors affecting the collaboration among the parties involved in construction projects during the construction phase. Based on previous studies and expert opinions, 20 factors have been identified and grouped into 5 main factor groups by factor analysis technique. By ranking the factors, the study identified the 3 most influencing factors including the trust among the parties (mutual trust or suspicion), the honesty among the parties (honestly accepting responsibility or intentionally concealing, blaming responsibility when problems occur), the support from senior management. The results of the study are expected to help the parties have a specific view of the factors affecting the collaboration among them during the construction phase whereby they will bring appropriate solutions and strategies to maintain a long-term business relationship.
