Abstract
Application of 3D printing technology to be highly advantageous in the construction field about optimizing construction time, cost, flexibility in architectural and structural design, safer working conditions, and environmental aspects. The 3D concrete printing process is significantly affected by the properties of fresh concrete such as printability, the ability to maintain shape after deposition, and not collapse under a load of subsequent layers. This paper presents an investigation on the effects of water-to-binder ratio (W/B) of 0.3, 0.32, 0.34, 0.36, 0.38, and 0.4, respectively on the printability. In the experimental study, printability was measured according to four different tests such as rheology, fluidity, cylinder stability, and the initial setting time. The obtained results show that the concrete mixture with the W/B ratio from 0.32 - 0.34 has a high viscosity, less fluidity, better shape retention that are very suitable in the concrete printing process 3D.
