Planning residential neighbourhoods for Industrial Parks' labours in Hanoi until 2030

Abstract

Accommodation for workers in industrial parks (IPs) is always an imminent matter to society, especially for large cities like Hanoi. Among 22 IPs in Hanoi, 9 IPs have been put into operation but only 1 housing area for workers has been built, 2 are under construction, altogether meeting about 20% of the current housing requirement for workers. This study provides assessments and forecasts of the housing needs of IPs' workers in the coming time, evaluates land funds suitable for planning of housing areas for workers, thereby proposes appropriate development models and planning options.
