GREEN E-COMMERCE: CURRENT SITUATION AND SOLUTIONS FOR ENHANCING EFFECTIVENESS
Abstract
Green e-commerce is a sustainable trend aimed at minimizing environmental impacts through solutions such as recyclable packaging, low-emission transportation, and optimized supply chains. While providing economic benefits, e-commerce also causes various issues, including packaging waste (12% of global packaging waste), greenhouse gas emissions from delivery, and high energy consumption in data centers. To address these challenges, it is essential to implement eco-friendly packaging, green logistics, renewable energy usage, and raise consumer awareness. Governments, businesses, and consumers must collaborate to build a green e-commerce ecosystem. Green e- commerce not only meets the demand for sustainable development but also creates a competitive advantage, positioning Vietnam as a pioneer market in Southeast Asia
