Abstract: As a form of the beautiful, the tragic, particularly in art, uniquely influences through various representations the formation and development of human personality in general, and man’s aesthetic consciousness and capability in particular. The tragic, especially tragic images/figures in literature and art, has become an important content and method of aesthetic education. Studying the role of the tragic in social life and enhancing its role in aesthetic education is a matter of both contemporary relevance and enduring humanistic significance. Within the scope of this article, the author presents his aesthetic view on the tragic and its crystallization in literature and art. The article further explores the aesthetic educational value of the tragic in literature and art and analyzes its unique impact on aesthetic subjects.
