Abstract: The concept of the future refers not only to what will be but also to the ongoing effects of the past on the present. Laozi himself and the philosophy of "soften the light, blend in with the dust" left a great mark on history. For Laozi, the "Dao" affects everything in the universe without direct intervention, so that all things develop according to their nature. This philosophy was followed by Tran Nhan Tong, who combined it with Buddhist teachings and Vietnamese spirit to strike a balance between personal and social duties. The "soften the light, blend in with the dust" philosophy distinctly colours Vietnam's bamboo diplomacy: unwavering yet flexible. Vietnam stands firm in its stands and respects the independence and interests of other nations but is open to friendship with all countries. Despite inevitable competition and conflicts, Vietnam always upholds the principle of "great righteousness." With its active participation in many international forums, Vietnam contributes to global issues on climate change and sustainable development to build a future in which every nation can develop independently and freely.
