CONFUCIAN THOUGHT ON POLITICAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ITS APPLICATION IN ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE IN VIETNAM TODAY

Abstract: This article analyzes the political responsibility in Confucian philosophy and its role in responding to climate change in Vietnam today. It clarifies the political responsibility emphasized by Confucian philosophers from Confucius to Dong Zhongshu, stressing that leaders must act with legitimacy, humanity, and a high sense of responsibility, especially during times of crisis. This not only represents a moral virtue but also an essential leadership principle to maintain societal stability and development. In Vietnam today, political responsibility must be promoted to improve administration, enhance public governance, and ensure effective responses to climate change.
