THE GOALS OF “CHINESE-STYLE MODERNIZATION” AND LESSONS FOR VIETNAM IN DEFINING CURRENT MODERNIZATION GOALS

Abstract: This article examines the emergence and development of the strategy of “Chinese-style modernization” within the process of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. It particularly delves into the establishment and core content of the “Chinese Dream” as defined and pursued by the fifth-generation leadership under Xi Jinping, in connection with the implementation of Chinese-style modernization. With its scientific, innovative, and distinctive approach - as well as the significant achievements gained in pursuing the “Chinese Dream”- the article offers initial insights for Vietnam in defining its own modernization goals, particularly in strengthening the leadership role of the ruling Party, emphasizing the key actors and resources involved in the implementation of modernization during the renovation period.
