Abstract: Lào Cai, with its majestic mountain and forest ecosystem, cool climate all year round, and a rich cultural treasure trove of 25 ethnic groups, possesses strong potential for tourism development. In the context of deep and broad international integration today, a sustainable tourism development strategy based on the preservation, protection, and promotion of national cultural identity is becoming the key to building competitive advantage and enhancing Lào Cai's unique appeal. Therefore, it is essential to implement important solutions in terms of policy, resources, and operational mechanisms to effectively carry out the principle of turning "heritage into assets" for sustainable tourism development, thereby driving the province’s socio-economic growth.
