Abstract: The viewpoints and policy of national liberation constitute the central content in Nguyễn Trãi’s political thought, serving as a typical manifestation of the crystallization of the intelligence, morality, courage, and profound patriotism of the Vietnamese nation. From the affirmation of national sovereignty, Nguyễn Trãi emphasized the central role of the people, both as the objective and the driving force of the resistance war, while identifying a method of struggle that combines military and political means. This thought has become the foundation for the current policy of all-people national defense, highlighting the elements of “people’s support,” justice, and comprehensive national protection. This article focuses on analyzing Nguyễn Trãi’s viewpoints and policy of national liberation from the perspective of historical materialism, clarifying its theoretical and practical significance in the cause of national defense today.
