FILIAL PIETY IN VIETNAMESE FAMILY EDUCATION IN THE FEUDAL PERIOD

Abstract: In the history of Vietnamese thought, the education of filial piety has always been emphasized and regarded as a central task in family education. Since the 15th century, along with the establishment of Confucianism's new position, the education of filial piety has been further emphasized and expressed through texts known as "family teachings." In this article, the author focuses on clarifying traditional views on filial piety and the content of filial piety education for sons and daughters in the family, as presented in several Vietnamese "family teachings" works.
