Tóm tắt

Abstract: The philosophical foundation of Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) is deeply rooted in Eastern philosophical systems, including the Yijing, with its concepts of Yin-Yang, Five Elements, Bagua, and principles of Change, Holism, and the Correspondence between Heaven and Humans. These have shaped the worldview and methodology of TEAM. The absorption and application of these philosophical ideas in creating the theoretical system of medicine, as reflected in classical medical texts (such as The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon and Treatise on Cold Damage) and current TEAM literature, is considered a dynamic tradition. This article contributes to clarifying the philosophical essence of TEAM, viewing it as a unique knowledge system, and explores the role of philosophy in medicine and the importance of dialogue between different medical systems in the contemporary context.

Keywords: Philosophy, Yijing, medicine, traditional medicine, modern medicine, Hải Thượng Lãn Ông.
