Abstract: Can Tho City, the economic and cultural hub of the Mekong Delta region, is presented with significant development opportunities through international integration, digital transformation, and green economy advancement. This article analyzes key factors influencing the city’s development, including: (1) International integration unlocking opportunities for investment attraction and export market expansion; (2) Digital transformation enhancing urban governance efficiency, smart agriculture, and digital tourism; (3) Green economy enabling Can Tho to harmonize economic growth with environmental protection, particularly in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. Research findings indicate that strategically leveraging these trends could position Can Tho as a competitive, sustainable smart city within the region.
