About right to a fair trial in Vietnamese criminal procedures

Abstract

Be a general right reflected in criminal procedure regulations of many nations, right to a fair trial is one of the basic and universal rights in criminal proceedings. Vietnamese criminal procedure law has been consulted and absorbed basic principles of international and other nations’ law on fair trial to ensure human rights in criminal proceedings. Within this article, the authors shed light on definition and regulations of Vietnamese criminal procedure law on right to a fair trial; thereby propose solutions for law improvement to ensure this right in Vietnam in the future.
