The paper proposes a method for developing a digital switching algorithm to control a three-level bridge inverter connected to a two-phase AC load. The approach is based on determining the control signal functions for the inverter’s switching devices through the initial condition variables of a two-phase induction motor load. The average output voltage of the inverter is regulated by commutating between inverter states corresponding to the power-supply modes of the two stator windings, utilizing the regenerative braking or dynamic braking states of the motor. The analysis results for speed characteristics, load capability, dynamic response, and mechanical stiffness are evaluated for a two-phase induction motor load. The main advantage of the proposed method is the simplification of the voltage-frequency conversion structure for two-phase AC loads, achieved through the switching principles of a three-level bridge inverter connected to the load.Downloads
