Abstract

In the context of higher education reform oriented toward meeting the competency-based learning outcomes of training programs, this study selected the flipped classroom model to be applied to the topic “The eye and refractive errors” in Biophysics course for medical students at Hai Duong Medical Technical University. The purpose of the study is to design a teaching process for the topic “The eye and refractive errors” based on the flipped classroom model and to evaluate the impact of the designed teaching process on students’ learning outcomes in relation to the course learning outcomes. The theoretical basis analysis method was used to design the teaching process. Using the pedagogical experimental method, the study collected, compared, and analyzed both qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate the impact of the teaching process on the experimental and control groups through test results. The findings indicate that organizing teaching and learning activities for the topic “The eye and refractive errors” in Biophysics course for medical students at Hai Duong Medical Technical University using the flipped classroom model improves students’ learning outcomes aligned with the course learning outcomes. Based on these results, the study proposes applying the flipped classroom model to the organization of teaching activities for medical students to meet the competency- based learning outcomes of the training program.
