OWNING PUBLIC LAND-FIELD IN PHONG PHU DISTRICT, AN GIANG PROVINCE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY

Abstract

Phong Phu district, An Giang province in the first half of the 19th century was young land area, so the area of cultivated land-field was relatively small compared to other areas in Cochinchine. With the method of statistics and analysis of cadastral registers, the paper that contributes to reflect the basic characteristics in the structure of ownership of public land-field in Phong Phu district in terms of area and scale of ownership. On another perspective, the land management policy of the Nguyen Dynasty for Phong Phu district in the first half of the 19 century was also deep history lesson in planning the current land management policy of Can Tho city.
