Abstract

In classical Chinese literature, the story with satirical content is not only available to Rú lín wài shǐ, but depicts deeply miraculously, gently, discreetly and delicately, only Wu Jing Zi. Rú lín wài shǐ always make readers fascinated, but they are not easily understandable works, because of the writer's sublime and delicate art of satire. The magic element in the novel Rú lín wài shǐ  not only contributes to show the unique artistic style of writer Wu Jing Zi but also shows us his own thinking style, his own "realism" through new perspectives. With the diligence of an artist and the clairvoyance of a thinker, Wu Jing Zi bravely used the "fantastic" as the sharpest and most versatile blade to dissect life's reality. Within the scope of the article, we use the method of analyzing, synthesizing, and systematizing the references to decode the "fantastic" of the Rú lín wài shǐ not in the content of the work but in the domains: "fantastic" can exist in the form or art of  building and constructing works. It was also one of the many ways to find the magic that attracts readers throughout the literary history.
