This study focuses on evaluating the impact of photovoltaic power systems on the distribution network in the Ca Mau province area, with particular emphasis on harmonic distortion. The system model was developed and simulated using Etap software, considering various scenarios with different photovoltaic penetration levels ranging from 0% to 145%, different interconnection points, and actual operating conditions in Ca Mau. Harmonic analysis tools were employed to collect data on voltage total harmonic distortion and assess the extent of the impact. The results indicate that as the photovoltaic system output increases, the harmonic distortion levels at network buses also rise significantly, exceeding permissible limits in some cases. This may adversely affect electrical equipment and compromise system stability. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate harmonic filters and implement appropriate control strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of photovoltaic-generated harmonics on the distribution network.Downloads
