Wideband radio frequency interference in synthetic aperture radar systems refers to wideband electromagnetic signals that significantly degrade image quality during correlation processing of the reflected signal. This paper focuses on addressing the problem of detecting wideband radio frequency interference at different energy levels by identifying anomalies in the probability distribution. A novel method, called cross-correlation divergence, is proposed based on the characteristics of the probability distribution combined with the properties of cross-correlation. The performance of the cross-correlation divergence method is evaluated and compared with three algorithms: Kullback–Leibler divergence, Jensen–Shannon divergence, and Bhattacharyya distance. Experimental results show that the cross-correlation divergence method achieves superior detection performance, with a false alarm rate of 6.3% and a miss rate of 5.1%. Furthermore, cross-correlation divergence achieved the lowest computational cost (0.024 s), comparable to Bhattacharyya distance but lower than Kullback–Leibler divergence (0.028 s) and Jensen–Shannon divergence (0.026 s).Downloads
