This paper examines the development of supporting industries in Thai Nguyen province during the period 2020 - 2024 using secondary data, descriptive statistics, and time-series comparison. The findings indicate that the manufacturing and processing sector remains a key driver of the province’s economic growth, providing an important foundation for the development of supporting industries. Although the number of enterprises has increased, most firms are still small in scale, with limited technological capabilities and low participation in supply chains. Despite the strong inflow of foreign direct investment into manufacturing, its spillover effects on domestic firms remain limited. In addition, the structure of supporting industries is imbalanced, with a concentration in low-value-added sectors. Based on these findings, the study proposes several policy implications to enhance firm capabilities, strengthen linkages between domestic enterprises and foreign direct investment firms, and promote the sustainable development of supporting industries in the province.Downloads
