Abstract

The rapid growth of electric vehicles in Vietnam has driven an increasing demand for efficient, reliable charging infrastructure. This paper proposes an optimal electric vehicle charging station recommendation system designed to assist users in identifying the most suitable charging points during real-world travel. The research methodology involves developing a multi-criteria optimization model to evaluate candidate stations based on three key factors: travel distance, total travel and charging time, and estimated cost. The system integrates the VietMap Application Programming Interface (API) to obtain real-time routing data and traffic information. It considers critical constraints such as charging port compatibility and the vehicle’s state of charge. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system can generate a Top-K ranked list of charging stations tailored to specific user preferences and technical constraints. Overall, the proposed solution enhances the electric vehicle driving experience and supports the development of sustainable green transportation within Intelligent Transportation Systems in Vietnam.
