Abstract

This study aims to assess the digital competence proficiency of students majoring in social sciences and humanities at the University of Sciences, Thai Nguyen University, based on the Digital Competence Framework for Learners stipulated in Circular No. 02/2025/TT-BGDĐT, dated January 24, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. The study employs methods such as document analysis, questionnaire-based surveys, and data analysis and synthesis. The results indicate that while students perform relatively well in information utilization and communication within the digital environment, their capabilities regarding digital content creation and problem-solving remain limited. Regarding digital safety and the use of artificial intelligence, students possess a certain awareness of potential risks, yet their practical skills in handling these issues and protecting themselves are not yet commensurate. The study concludes that it is necessary to guide the development of students' digital competence, moving from an initial level of adaptability toward a level that more fully meets the requirements of digital transformation in higher education.
