“KAIXIN CHINESE TEACHING” TEXTBOOKS AND SUGGESTIONS IN TEACHING AND COMPILING CHINESE LANGUAGE CURRICULUM FOR ELEMENTARY EDUCATION IN CONTEMPORARY VIETNAM
Abstract
In accordance with Decision No. 4119/QĐ-BGDĐT, promulgated by the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training, concerning the approval of instructional materials spanning various subjects, educational activities for fifth-grade students, and Chinese language textbooks for third and fourth grades within the purview of general education, there is a discernible acknowledgment of the growing importance attributed to the Chinese language. This article, employing research literature and a descriptive method, introduces and analyzes the presentation characteristics and teaching methods of the "KaiXin Chinese Teaching" textbooks, specifically tailored for first-grade students (aged 7). The research results reveal differences in presentation compared to textbooks from previous periods, encompassing alterations in stylistic presentation, encompassing changes in formatting and approaches to illustrate complex grammar and challenging vocabulary in the Chinese language. Subsequently, the article provides observations on the textbook and offers suggestions for teaching and editing elementary school Chinese language textbooks in Vietnam today.
