This paper presents a novel multi-objective optimization method for the planning of distributed power generation sources in distribution networks, aiming to minimize power losses, enhance voltage quality, and improve the efficiency of renewable energy utilization. The proposed approach is developed based on the Secretary Bird Algorithm, a metaheuristic inspired by the natural behaviors of observation, attack, and evasion exhibited by the Secretary bird. The algorithm’s mechanism effectively balances global exploration and local exploitation, thereby improving the accuracy of the search process and preventing premature convergence. The optimization model simultaneously considers four main objectives: minimizing power losses, reducing investment cost, improving voltage deviation, and maximizing the absorption rate of renewable energy, while ensuring compliance with the technical constraints of the power system. Simulation results on 33-bus and 69-bus distribution networks show that the proposed algorithm achieves faster convergence, lower power losses, and higher operational efficiency, confirming its robustness and strong potential for intelligent and sustainable distribution network planning.Downloads
