This study investigates the difficulties encountered by junior-year Chinese Language majors while taking the Listening-Speaking module at the undergraduate level. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the authors collected quantitative data using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire administered to 114 students and qualitative data from semi-structured interviews with 10 students. The results indicate that students face obstacles across four main dimensions: curriculum/textbooks, teaching methods, self-learning capacity on the E-learning platform, and psychological barriers in communication. Students also proposed various solutions, including proactively searching for online learning materials, participating in supplementary E-learning courses, engaging in group study, and communicating directly with instructors. These findings highlight the need for innovative teaching methods to enhance the effectiveness of Listening-Speaking skills acquisition and simultaneously encourage students to promote self-directed learning throughout the process. The study contributes a reference basis for instructors and provides guidance for future research.Downloads
