This article clarifies the inheritance and development of Confucian philosophical thought by Xunzi, through his understanding of humanity, heaven, and society, thereby establishing his unique role in the ancient Eastern philosophical system. The question arises: did the materialistic tendency in Xunzi's philosophy contribute to the diversity of Confucian thought? Xunzi's philosophy holds profound practical significance as it reaffirms the active role of human beings in education, politics, and social organization.
