Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of nitrogen fertilizer levels on thegrowth, yield and quality of two melon varieties (Chu Phan and Mat Hoa) in the summer- autumncrop of 2020 in Mai Son district, Son La province. The results showed that the two melon varieties grew well, with growing time from 85 to 90 days, average weight from 1.4 to 1.7 kg/fruit, and yield from 16.7 to 19.2 tons/ha. Mat hoa variety. Nitrogen fertilization at 120kgN/ha and140kgN/ha gave melon yields similar, reaching from 20.8 to 21.3 tons/ha, significantly higherthan the levels of 80 kgN/ha and 100kgN/ha, however the Brix level was only from 15.1 to 15.2,significantly lower than the levels of 80 kgN/ha and 100kgN/ha (Brix degrees respectively: 16.1 -16.4).
