HELPING CHILDREN TRANSITIONS FROM KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 1

Abstract

Starting primary school is a new and stressful experience for most children. Preparing your child for the transition to First Grade can be advantageous. This article discusses the theoretical basis of the transition period from kindergarten to first grade and analyzes the difficulties children face in this period from research results in the world and experiences in helping children transition from kindergarten to primary school in some countries with advanced education. From there, the article gives some suggestions to help parents and preschool teachers prepare well for their children in the early stages of learning.
